Sometime, you have to feel the subject when taking a shot. Angle, lights, composition must balance to get good photo. Using DSLR camera is pretty tricky. Though the camera has set auto format, but as a beginner, using manual (M) is encouraged.
One thing that excites me right now is HDR. Imagine ...you can manipulate photo according to your creativity. Take 3 photos with different exposure. Lets see my tryout. It was taken during mid-day today while waiting for solat dzohor. Will serve you more with fascinating pixs.
